WINTER

WINTER MAGIC

NOVEMBER-MARCH

Winter at The Glen is unpredictable, dramatic, and unforgettable. Snow transforms the valley into a quiet white wonderland, where aspens stand still beneath fresh powder and the air feels crisp and alive. It is a season made for slowing down. Warm up in the spa, unwind in the sauna as snow falls around you, and gather by the fire as the mountains settle into their winter rhythm.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Winter conditions in the Rockies can vary widely. Snow can arrive as early as October and linger through April, with temperatures ranging from minus ten degrees to sixty degrees. Early storms often move through between October and December, the coldest stretch typically falls between November and February, and the heaviest snowfalls most commonly arrive from February through April, sometimes bringing several feet at a time. Four-wheel drive may be required for travel between October and May, and guests should plan accordingly for changing mountain conditions.

“Every moment felt straight out of a winter fairytale. We even got lucky with snow, and when we were snowed in for a day. If you’re looking for a true winter wonderland, this is it!”.

-Samantha

NEW LIFE

APRIL-JUNE

As winter loosens its grip, spring brings fresh life to the valley. Days warm gently while late, heavier snow can still appear in April and May. Aspens leaf out, wildflowers start to bloom, and the land wakes up around you. This is a time of renewal and quiet transformation — ideal for slow mornings with coffee on the deck or meditative walks on the property.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Snow can fall through May but often melts quickly. May into June brings new leaves on the aspens, bears out of hibernation, and migrating birds move back in to fill the mornings with their songs!  The wildflowers start in June and the temperatures often range from 30-70.

4X4 STILL ADVISED THROUGH MID MAY!

“Set among stunning rock outcroppings, beautiful trees, and peaceful ponds, it’s a truly scenic retreat.”

-Matt

JUNE-AUG

SUMMER FUN

Summer is peak season at The Glen. Temperatures typically range from cool nights in the 50s to pleasant days in the 60s and 80s, and plant life is lush with color and wildlife activity. It’s a wonderful time to explore nearby trails, enjoy outdoor living spaces, and soak up sunshine from your deck. With all the sites and sounds of a Colorado mountain summer, this season invites adventure and rest in equal measure.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Summer brings buzzing bees, dragonflies, butterflies, birds, baby dear, black bears, chipmunks and wildflowers!

“I spent each morning having a coffee while sitting in the hot tub and enjoying all of the surrounding beauty.”

-Glen

SEPT-OCT

GOLDEN SEASON

Autumn at The Glen is short but spectacular. Mid-September into October brings crisp, clear days and the aspen trees shift into brilliant golds and yellows before snow arrives. The air feels fresh and invigorating, nights cool comfortably, and this season is perfect for early fall getaways, scenic hikes, and enjoying the valley before winter settles in

WHAT TO EXPECT

This is the our most favorite time at The Glen! Still warm enough to enjoy t-shirts during the day but cold enough for a fire at night! Aspen typically start to around the later part of September and are normally dormant by mid-late October. Temperatures will range from 30s-70s which make for beautiful day hikes and perfect sauna nights! Snow can move in late October so we advise 4x4 or all-wheel-drive starting in October.

“Aside from the property and cabins, our favorite part was watching the aspen trees in their full fall color palette, while glistening in the wind.”

-Mary
